Batch Update Sub-tab (Step 2 of 2)

After you select the item fields to update for a batch update, move to step 2 of 2. In this step, you create a barcode list, select a Resource List, or select a barcode file.

Important: This process cannot be reversed. Before proceeding, make sure you have a current backup of your database.

Create a list of items to update

Update a batch of items (Step 2 of 2)

  1. Select Catalog > Update Resources > Batch Update sub-tab.
  2. Complete Step 1 of 2. For details on Step 1, see Batch Update Sub-tab (Resource Manager).
  3. Click Right arrow.. The Step 2 page appears.
  4. In the Select by drop-down, choose how to identify the items to update.
  5. Do one of the following:
    If you selected…Then…
    Barcode List
    1. In the Create a barcode list field, scan or type the barcodes.
    2. If you type the barcodes, click Add after each entered.
    3. To remove a barcode number from the list, select it, and then click Remove.

    OR

    Next to Select a barcode file, click Choose File or (Browse, depending on your browser) to find and select the text file.

    List
    1. From the Select a List drop-down, select the Resource List with the resources you want to update.
    2. To review the Resource List contents, click View List.
  6. Click Update. The Job Manager page appears.
  7. Click Refresh List to view the status of the batch delete job. When the status changes to Completed, click View to open the Job Summary.

If duplicate barcodes are allowed across the district, a district-wide search could find more than one item with the barcode entered. Select the appropriate item.
