Relate titles
You can relate, or group, title records so any copy of a title in a group can fulfill a hold placed on another title in the group. This functionality is not visible to patrons. Destiny considers all copies of all titles in a related Titles group to be equal candidates for fulfilling a hold request.
To create a group of related titles:
- Select Catalog > Update Titles > Relate Titles sub-tab.
- Enter a name in the Enter new group name field, and then click Add.
- To identify titles for the group, enter a title keyword in the Find Titles for <group name> field. Then click Go.
- In the search results list, click Add next to the titles you want to add to the group. These titles then move to the Selected Titles section.
Note: A title can only belong to one group. - Click Save.
After a group is set up, the related copies can fulfill pending holds. If so, their status becomes On Hold, and an alert message appears.
When Destiny reviews a hold during the Title Import process, it also checks whether the copy can fulfill a hold on a related title (if available).
If a title is in a group, related titles information appears on the Title Details page. Users with the appropriate access level permission will see a Manage button, which opens the Edit <group name> page.
