Title

Enter the main title of the work. Usually only the first word of the main title and any proper nouns are capitalized.

Enter any uniform titles (for example, Bible, Arabian Nights or Beowulf) on the Added Entries tab.

Make sure to enter any leading article in the first field.

If you selected the Ignore leading articles in search terms when browsing for (or reporting on) titles checkbox in Site Configuration, Destiny ignores leading articles in search terms and when specifying a title range for a report.

These leading articles are:

• English: a, an, d', de, the, ye
• French: l', la, le, les, un, une
• Spanish/Portuguese: el, la, las, lo, los, o, os, um, uma, un, una

Destiny counts these non-filing characters and enters the number in the second indicator position.

Destiny enters 1 in the first indicator position for this field.

This field corresponds to the 245_a tag of the MARC21 format.
