Guidelines

The Study Program Information Note contains information about reading programs such as Accelerated Reader (AR) and Reading Counts (RC). It is generally used for formal curriculum-based study or reading programs.
Field 526 also contains details about the study program.
Use the first indicator 0 for reading programs like Accelerated Reader and Reading Counts.
Use the first indicator 8 when entering a note about a local study program.
In Destiny, any 526_5 must contain a site's Short Name. Destiny adds the Short Name of the site adding the 526 field automatically.
A 526_5 is required if the reading program is Accelerated Reader or Reading Counts.
For a different program, Destiny does not automatically add a 526_5 added by a district cataloger.
If subfield 5 contains the Short Name of a Destiny site, the 526 field (and its information shown on its Title Details page) is site-specific. It is visible only at that site.
District catalogers can view site-specific 526 fields by clicking "Show site-specific 526 tags Show more" in the MARC Editor.
Reading program information obtained from an Enterprise subscription is not editable.
