Subjects
On the Subjects tab, you can add subject headings and access terms to help readers search for title records:
- Topical Heading: General terms or phrases
- Personal Heading: Straightforward names (last name first)
- Geographic Heading: Names of locations
- Local Heading: Subjects of local design or interest
Sub-headings
To provide more precise subject searches, you can enter up to three sub-headings. Options for sub-headings are:
- General: General terms or phrases
- Geographic: Names of locations
- Chronological: Specific dates or time periods
- Form: Specific genres or material types
After adding subjects to the title, all existing subjects are listed in the Subjects area.
You can edit or delete any of the subjects.

Note: If you want to add site-specific subjects, return to the Title Details page, and click Site Subjects. Site-specific subjects are those that appear only at your site (identified in subfield _5 of the subject field). |
